Oh What Do You Do In The Summertime?

Is it just me, or is summer whooshing past in a blur? Well, at least I can say it has been a wonderful blur! Here are some fun pictures to show what we've been up to.

Fishing at Mirror Lake

100 degree heat? No problem!!

Hanging out waiting for the Draper Day's parade to start

Tate and Max with their bud Ashlyn. Draper does a children's parade a few days before the Draper Day's parade. They provide lots of decorating stuff, and allow the kids to decorate their bikes, wagons, etc. The kids walk about one block to the park. This year they had a magic show and free ice cream. It was a hit!
One of our favorite things to do is hang out at Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa's house (and eat all the cookies!!)

Having fun at the park one day

Fishing with the butterfly net
Thanksgiving Point is one of our favorite places to go. They have wonderful gardens, and a great children's garden. The children's garden has a very fun Noah's ark surrounded in a little bit of water for the kids to play in.

Loving the sandbox. A few months ago we hauled 7 massive boxes home from Costco. In each box was about a million small parts and pieces that when assembled became a swingset with a sandbox. My Dad and Chad knocked it out in one weekend. We are loving the results--Thanks guys! We love you! (Quick side note: the picture below is of Tate playing with all of the farm animals. What you don't see is the lone cow just out of the picture on the picnic table. When asked, Tate said that the cow was in time-out. --(poor cow!)
The sandbox again. Chad made the boys each a sandcastle. They would count to three and then jump and land sitting on the sand castles.

Zoom!

We went to the airshow over the weekend, and it was amazing! We got to go with my parents, and my little sister Briana and her husband Timothy. The boys had a great time. Chad had to work, but was able to make it at the end for the Thunderbirds. Tate and Max were enthralled throughout the program. Tate was so bummed when it was time to go. He said "but Mommy, I want to stay all day!" I had to remind him that we had been there all day--for about 6 hours! It was fun to see him loving something so much!

Free toy airplanes! Wahoo!
This picture of Max cracks me up. He absolutely loves chapstick. I mean LOVES chapstick. He will go in search of Chad's every morning. He carries it around in his pocket and occasionally rubs it all over his body. So we introduced him to a wonderful little thing called "stick sunscreen." Now he carries around his "chapstwick" and covers himself in sunscreen at the same time! (And Chad's chapstick is now safe from a marauding 23 month old!_

Amazing acrobatics

The always awesome ThunderbirdsI just had to include this one. Max loves to get out the tripod and pretend like he's taking pictures. We were having fun this morning taking pictures of each other!

Random Fun at the Goeckeritz House

Chad found this cool new park by his office in Holladay. It has lots of fun and different things. Tate and Max especially loved being the coachmen of the pumpkin carriage.

Camping at Nana and Grandpa's cabin

New Family Picture
Fun at the Bee's Baseball game

What do you do at a baseball game? Why, you find an old napkin, decide it's a map, and get all of the kids around you to help you search for buried treasure of course!

Finally!

So I've learned the hard way that trying to get a picture of both of my little guys looking somewhat happy at the same time is a bit of a challenge. I finally wised up, and realized that my ideas of a cute picture were not my kids ideas of a fun time. There is an old tractor by my home that my kids are always begging to go "check out." I decided to bring my camera along to see what we could get...
1st attempt at cute picture. They really look like they love each other huh???

Apparently, an awesome orange truck is required for all pictures in the future. Good to know!

Fun At the Tulip Festival (And Other Fun Events!)

We had a great time this past weekend going to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point. It was stunning! 250,000 tulip bulbs all blooming at the same time is definitely something to see. My boys especially loved the giant hill by the waterfall. They would run to the top and then roll down. They had a great time! As usual my camera got lugged along for some pictures...I'm learning that my kids are getting a little teensy bit tired of me taking their pictures--the only way we could get Max to sit still was to put candies in his front pocket, then distract him by having him look for them!

We had a wonderful Easter--the boys favorite part was our new puppy Gracie! she is 11 months old and is just a sweetheart. The boys think she's their new best bud!

Now how can I get that candy?
