Preschool!

8/14/08

It is preschool time for Tate! We went to orientation today. His teacher's name is Miss Marci. Tate is soooo... excited! He played outside on what he called "the coolest playground." It really is great. We are excited for him, but are a little shocked that we have such a "big" kid!

Tate and Max had a great time playing with their Great Grandma and Great Grandpa. Grandma didn't know what one of the tools was that Tate was playing with, so Tate decided Grandma needed a lesson. He showed her exactly how to hold the tool, and then coached her through how to use it--so helpful!

Max had a grand ol' time opening and closing the book cupboard. Who knew a cupboard could be so much fun?!

The Sandy Hot Air Balloon Festival

8/9/08

We had a blast this morning! We got up early and went to a nearby park. There were 9 different hot air balloons set up. We were able to sit in the fresh morning air with the sun just peeking over the Wasatch mountains and watch the balloons lift off. Both boys were fascinated with the whole thing.

There was a fire truck in the parking lot and Tate was able to go inside of it. It made his day! He was acting so silly though, and was pretending to be a puppy and lick things. The fireman was really cute and said "oh, we need a good fire dog!" Hurray for nice (and understanding!) firemen!

The Craft Cupboard (and other tales from our house...)

Max discovered our craft cupboard a few days ago. Boy was he proud! He pulled everything out! When I found him he just laughed like he knew he'd made a mess. Good thing he's so darn cute! He's also been learning a lot of new tricks. He is almost walking, and will crawl over and climb onto anything he can. I took him to the pediatrician's today for his 1 year checkup. She said "well I can see he is definitely above average in motor skills..." this as Max is tearing the room apart and climbing on all of the furniture! I guess all of his exercise explains why he is no longer on the chart for weight. He weighs 17 lb. 11 oz. so he's pretty little. Sounds like it's a milkshake and french fry diet for a while!

We took the boys to the Mayan restaurant tonight. It totally made Tate's day. He walked around finding all of the birds and lizards hidden throughout the trees. He was mesmerized as he watched the divers. When we were finished I asked him if he liked it at the Mayan restaurant he said "no, Mommy, it was the Magical Mayan." I can't remember the last time I saw him so wide eyed and excited!

Briana and Timothy

August 1, 2008

My cute little sister was married yesterday to a very sweet guy. They were married in the LDS Timpanogos temple. Chad and I were married there too! It was fun to go back-we listened a lot better during the ceremony this time! It was a wonderful day. Tate has been excited for weeks about going to the Temple and for the big party afterwards. He had a great time! He was a great helper. He brought people water (with carrots in them) and made it a point to fill several cups with water to help all of the thirsty plants. It was too cute watching him! Max had fun jabbering to everyone around, and eating lots of treats.

July 28, 2008

Well, time just keeps marching on. I could have sworn I just posted! Hard to believe that August is creeping up in just a few days. We have had a great July, enjoying the summer sun (and complete lack of humidity!)

Cute Max hanging out at the Draper Days Parade. It was so great because the parade route went right down our street. All we had to do was sit on our lawn chairs in the front yard! It was great!
Uh, Mommy, the Jazz bear has my drink...
Tate: "Wow! The bear was sooooo.... thirsty!" (It took us several minutes to convince Tate that the bear was just teasing, and that he really could drink more of his drink!)

After the train ride at the ZooWe had such a great time this past weekend. The Peck family is in town, and we were able to spend Saturday with them. We took the kids to a great swimming pool, then headed over to Amanda's Mom's house. It was beautiful there, with a little stream, plenty of grass, and horses! It took some convincing, but Tate was finally brave and got on the horse with Mylee. He was so proud of himself! It was wonderful seeing them as we've been a bit homesick for Virginia!

Mandy would put this Stetson hat on Max, then pull it off quickly. He thought it was the funniest thing ever!

Happy 1st Birthday Baby Max!

Our sweet little "Moosies" turned 1 today! It is hard to believe an entire year has come and gone with this cute guy. We celebrated by playing together all day, and then having a birthday bash tonight. It is the first time in the past 4 years that we have been able to celebrate a birthday with our families around us. It was wonderful to have them over! Max made it through a couple of presents, then decided the toys were much cooler. Lucky for him, he has a big brother who is more than happy to help open presents! Max loved his cake and ice cream. He loved it in his mouth, he loved it in his hair, he even loved it on the floor! We love you so, so much Max! To the moon and back, and all around the stars!

More cake please!
The loot!

We had a car theme, so we decided Max needed a car cake!
